Bill had an episode yesterday (Thursday) where his heart stopped beating for a minute. They say it was because his heart rate was high and abnormal all morning and they were using a lot of drugs to get it down. They did get it back into normal rhythm but it left him very exhausted.

They took very good care of him and luckily his sister was there, I feel so torn because yesterday was my first day back at work and I wasn't there when it happened. I know that I have no choice right now except to go back to work, but it is so hard to leave him, especially when something like this happens. Today is one of my days off so I'm going to go spend the whole day and evening with him.

Former member, John Myers went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 5th, 2008. John had been ill for a long time and was in the hospital when his heart just stopped. John was 65. John and Barbara were members here in the 1970's and 1980's. Their daughter, Rachel, attended Downers Grove Christian School.

Carol Risley went home to be with the Lord at the age of 87, on Sunday, May 4th, 2008 at 2:30am after struggling with major health problems for a long time. Carol was a member of First Baptist Church for nine years and had been a resident of Fairview Village since the year 2000.

There will be a memorial service on Tuesday, May 6th, 2008 at 11:00am at Bloomingdale Church.

Our Side Two Mexico Dinner is Saturday, April 5th at 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. You do NOT need to R.S.V.P. for this dinner. We will provide a Mexican dinner for no cost for you and your family and will have child care at no cost during our brief program. The plan is to serve dinner upon arrival before having a brief program to share with you about the project.

The purpose of this dinner is for you to meet our Mexico Mission Team and hear how you can partner with us in this mission project. We will have you on your way before 7:00pm.
