Volunteer Opening March 30th - 31st

Below is a current and immediate volunteer need for March 30th - 31st at a Interim (overnight) Housing site. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated. If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail me back with the shift(s) you would like to volunteer for, your phone number, and indicate whether or not you have volunteered at the site previously.

Currently we are looking for volunteers for all shifts which include:

Set up and dinner service 5:30pm to 8pm
Dinner clean up 8 pm to 10pm
Overnight Monitors from 10pm to 2:30am and 2:00am to 5:30am
Breakfast servers and site restoration 5:00 am to 8:00am

Thanks for praying!

We are ok, but a lot of clean up and no water in the house. Getting water from a neighbor who has a well which we need to boil and filter. Small inconveniences.

Many much worse off than us.

Be on time for Sunday School and Worship Services. Don't forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour when you go to bed tomorrow (Saturday) night.

Laura Shannon made it home to her building and she does have electricity. Lots of broken glass in her apartment. It is one o'clock in the morning there. She is going to try and get some sleep and then later in the morning she is going to try and contact the Hills and will let us know what she finds out.

Pray, pray, pray.

PRAYER FOR JAPAN AND THEIR DEVASTATION.

Please be in prayer for Laura Shannon who is in Japan. She was able to get a text message to her sister to let her know that she is okay, but stuck in traffic and praying she doesn't run out of gas and wondering how she is going to get back to her building.

Please also pray for her parents Bill & Ginny as they are anxious for her safety.

We have not heard from the Hills, Leon & Cheryl, but please remember them also during this time.

I will send updates when I receive them.

Business Meeting tonight at 7:00 in the sanctuary. Voting on Committee Members/Budget for fiscal year 2011-2012.

There will be a chili dinner served at 6:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

There is nursery/child care during the meeting.

We encourage you to be here for the business meeting - especially if you are a member.

Tomorrow, Thursday, 3/10/11, 6-8 p.m. at the Lombard Roller Rink - 201 W 22nd St - Lombard IL - 630-953-2400.

The cost is $5.00 per person plus rental fees of:
$3.00 for skates - $5.00 for rollers blades
(You are also allowed to use your own roller blades as long as they are clean.)

We encourage the whole family to come and enjoy an evening of fun!

All children, sixth grade and under, must be accompanied by an adult.

We will begin the evening with a chili dinner being served at 6:00 p.m. in Fellowship Hall. Everyone is welcome.

The business meeting is open to everyone, but only members are allowed to vote. We will vote for new Committee members and we will vote on the new church budget for the 2011/2012 fiscal year. All FBC members are encouraged to be present.

There will be a nursery for children zero to kindergarten age and there will be care for kids 1st through 4th grades in the gymnasium.
