The First United Methodist Church has asked us to provide our own supply of kitchen towels and wash cloths for our service dates this year.

We will need about 4 dozen towels and 3 dozen wash cloths to start our service this season. If you would like to donate used or new kitchen towels or wash cloths please put them in the basket on the PADS sign up table in the church hallway on Sunday. The basket will be available for the next few weeks and will sit outside the church office door Monday through Saturday .

I would like to make you aware that Leadership of the DuPage PADS Ministry has been handed over to John & Rita Strum and Gabrielle Willaims.

John, Rita and Gabrielle have accepted the role of "carring on" this Ministry to the Homeless persons of our community and sharing the heart for Jesus through their service. I pray that this church family will continue to support this Ministry through food donation and step up as workers right along side of them as we have for the past 9 years.

You are invited to a Volunteer Appreciation Picnic on June 11, 2011 at Memorial Park in downtown Wheaton hosted by PADS to celebrate volunteers and to mark their 25th year as an agency. The picnic will be held from noon to 4:00 p.m. The event is free and open to past and present volunteers and supporters of DuPage PADS.

There will be a live band, children's activities including face painting and a barbeque. Please visit www.DuPagePADS.org if you need more information.

Dear Chruch Family,
I am sitting in my living room this morning in awe of God's wonder and praising him for the work he has done in the PADS Ministry. I'm looking at the PADS sign up sheets and see a wealth of people coming out for service and I am overwhelmed. The sign up sheet for food is completely full and even more donations will come. There will be homemade Bean Soup, homemade cookies (for lunches), Romane lettuce for salads (from Gleaners for the Lord) and breakfast sausage to bless the table, we will have a meal fit for a king. My heart is full becuase our children will come and serve, they will be there to help with set up and clean up, so much good to be done, Praise the Lord.
I am remembering Pastor Don's sermon and thanking God for the response to his word in 2 Cor 8:7...excel in this grace of giving.

Dear Church Family,
I am writing to make you aware of the needs for this PADS service date (2/15/11 to 2/16/11).

Male worker is needed for the 3:00am to 6:30am shift

Breakfast Workers are needed in the kitchen to help cook and clean up crew.

4 Workers needed in the kitchen from 5:30am to 7:30am, 4 other workers are needed for clean up 6:00am to 7:30am.

I failed to check the Laundry Pick up and drop off sign up on Sunday so I may be coming back to you all with this request later after I check the list at church.

Laundry Drivers for both pick up and drop off at Good Samaritan Hospital.

This coming Tuesday, January 18th will be our Service date for the PADS Ministry to the Homeless.

We have a special need of volunteers for the Breakfast shift on Wednesday, Jan 19th, 5:30am to 7:30am. Because of
the changes PADS has made to our responsibilities we need more adult helpers. Right now we have only 3 adult helpers and we could use at least 5 more.

We are also short of workers for the overnight shifts. If anyone can help with this need please let me know.

Food item are still needed, so consider taking a look at the sign up sheet at church to volunteer. Thank you for your wonderful support of this Ministry and your prayers for the PADS clients.

The DuPage PADS sign up sheets will be available in the church hallway tomorrow (1/2/11).

Our next Service date for PADS will be Tuesday, January 18th, 2011.

Besides the shift workers and food donations I will also be needing help with the Laundry pick up and drop off of sheets and towel at Good Samaritan Hospital. This will require 2 drivers who can transport several large bundles of linen to each location.
