COMING SOON
24 Hours of Prayer
January 8th, 2012 6:00 PM - January 9th, 6:00 PM

Come join us as our congregation engages in 24 Hours of Prayer and Fasting. Starting Sunday, January 8th at 6:00 PM and going to Monday, January 9th at 6:00 PM, we will pray for the many needs in our congregation and community.

Starting at 6:00 PM on Sunday, January 8th we will gather for an evening service of worship and prayer and finish around the communion table. The church sanctuary will then be open Sunday evening until 10:00 PM. On Monday, the sanctuary doors will open at 6:00 AM and close at 6:00 PM for you to stop by and pray as you go about your day.

Sign up for a time slot to reserve a time to specifically pray for these needs. We are looking for a continuous time of prayer from our congregation, but please pray when you can.

There are many benefits of praying for others and lifting up these requests before God on their behalf:
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus," 1 Timothy 2:1-5 NIV

Prayer Postcards will be in the Worship Folder Sunday morning and available as you at the entrance of the sanctuary on Monday.

Please join us at church or wherever you are this Sunday and Monday in a time of prayer and fasting.

Please send your prayer requests to the church office by contacting us online or by calling (630) 852-0800.

MINISTRY NEED
CHURCH DECORATIONS
We are in need of help from people to take down the church Christmas decorations before this Sunday, 1/8/12.

If you have any time, even a couple of hours in the day, you may come at any time, morning, afternoon or evening, beginning today through Saturday.

Please notify the church office to let us know when you would be available so we can plan accordingly. Rob Peterson and/or Darlene Watkins will be here to give direction.

Many hands make for less hours of work.

Your help will be appreciated.

CHRISTMAS TRACT DISTRIBUTION
Christmas Tract Distribution will take place tomorrow, Wednesday, 12/14/11 at 6:00 a.m. at Belmont Train Station in Downers Grove on Belmont north of Maple and just south of Prairie.

Maybe you can come for only a half hour, that's great - please come when you can and stay as long as you can. It usually lasts a couple of hours. And, in years past, a few even go out for breakfast afterwards.

Pastor Don is also looking for carolers. If you would like to take part in singing some Christmas songs, he would love to have you there.

The Christmas Tract Distribution will be repeated on Thursday, 12/15/11 at 6:00 a.m. at the Main Street Station in downtown Downers Grove.

We look forward to having you there.
