This summer, let’s give kids the royal treatment at Kingdom Rock. Be a part of vacation Bible school at First Baptist Church of Downers Grove during June 24th-28th from 9:00am-12:00pm. It’s our goal to reach as many children as possible with this program for God’s glory.

We’re praying this amazing VBS program will touch children’s hearts and lives with God’s love. Help kids in our community discover that

- God’s love helps us…stand strong!
- Friends and family help us…stand strong!
- Prayer helps us…stand strong!
- Trusting God helps us…stand strong!
- The Bible helps us…stand strong!

As we plan and prepare for Kingdom Rock, our team would cherish your prayers. Pray that God would give us wisdom in planning. Pray for the right staff members to join our team. And pray that God would begin working in the hearts of the children who will come to Kingdom Rock!

Potato Drop and Hand-Me-Down Connection - Saturday 4/20

We will have our regularly scheduled services on Sunday. For those of you traveling by canoe, kayak, inflatables or fishing boats, we have a place at the west entrance where you can tie your vessel down so it doesn't float away.

Last evening, 4/10/13, at the end of Sparks, we handed out a notice reminding you of our AWANA Awards Night next Wednesday, April 17th. Unfortunately, there was a typo, stating that it begins at 7:00 pm in the Sanctuary. It actually begins at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary, just like a regular club night. Please bring family and friends and join us for the Awards Night and experience what our Sparkies have done this year, as well as get a taste of what the rest of AWANA is about. Be sure your child wears his/her Sparks vest as they will all be up front together, presenting what they have learned.

The following week, Wednesday April 24th, will be our AWANA Carnival night. This night they DO NOT have to wear their vests, as it is just a time of fun and games and getting prizes. The Sparks Carnival will take place in the Preschool Room/Cubbie Room. (There will be a sign if anyone is unsure where this is). This will also begin at the regular 6:30 pm time and you may pick them back up from the Fellowship Hall (bottom of the stairs) at 8:00 pm.

Thank you for the chance to work with your children this year. I trust it has been a fun and meaningful experience for them, and that they have grown closer to Christ as they have hidden God’s Word in their hearts. We hope to see them all back next year for Sparks and T&T (3rd-6th grades).
