What is Awana and how does it make a difference in the lives of kids? The goal of Awana is to "empower Christian leaders worldwide to train children to know, love and serve Christ." Awana is an acronym for "Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed", based on 2 Timothy 2:15. Awana focuses on Scripture memorization, and is the world's largest Scripture memory program for children. But it doesn't stop at just memorization. Materials for each age level help kids understand and apply the truths of Scripture to their lives. An atmosphere of fun and excitement will keep kids coming back week after week, often with friends in tow.
So what's in our programs? The goal of a child's journey through Awana is to produce a young person who understands God's Word and applies that knowledge to their lives. The spiritual needs of kids in each stage of their life is the focus we maintain while staying true to the Word of God.
