Pastor Don Zimmerman has been our Senior Pastor since 1985. With a love for God’s Word and God’s people, he strives to lead this family of believers to a growing, vibrant walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. Pastor Don grew up on the mission field which greatly impacted his passion for sharing the Gospel not only in our communities but also around the world. He has traveled extensively edifying and encouraging believers. The Lord also uses him to help bring healing and restoration to many lives and marriages.

Pastor Rob Chagdes has been our Pastor of Student Ministries since 2006. He came with over 10 years of experience and has a passion for helping young people become disciples of Jesus Christ. He oversees the Jr. High and Sr. High ministries and he is deeply committed to ministering to the needs of our young people. Rob ministers with a deep love and concern for the spiritual walk of young people.

Fred Versluys has been the Principal of our school since 1998. He has given the school strong leadership keeping it focused on the task of educating our students. Working closely with parents and faculty, Fred has helped our students continuously reach excellent marks academically without sacrificing the teaching of a Christian world view. Downers Grove Christian School is without apology distinctively Christian.

Darlene Watkins has been with us as Administrative Assistant since 2003. She is the one who keeps track of the many different ministries of First Baptist Church and helps to keep them running efficiently. Darlene is a gifted organizer and is often the first person people meet when they come to visit the church office.

Rob Peterson is our Custodian. He has been a part of our team since 1987. We often refer to him as our Minister of Maintenance because of his heart to enhance all of the ministries here at First Baptist Church. No matter what your age, you will quickly learn as you attend First Baptist Church that Rob and his crew has a significant part in making the many ministries of our church function smoothly.
